Blood, sweat, and tears...

Ok, just a lot of sweat! Chris decided to make Cameron a toddler bed during his vacation. He worked most of the week on it, and Cameron is sleeping in it for the first time tonight. We are so proud. I know he is already 2 1/2 and some kids have been out of their baby beds for a while now, but not Cam. We didn't want to spring the new bed on him when Calleigh was born and he was not ready before she was born. Anyway, here we are with the new bed. We had debated for a while exactly what to do and we opted for a toddler bed, instead of a large bed. We are also in the process of redoing his room in his favorite, CARS! So right now the room is not complete and the color doesn't exactly match, but I will post pics of the room when we are done. It may be a little while since nothing happens quickly with 2 kids! Chris did an awesome job and his son LOVES the bed. He calls it is cars big boy bed.

Finally...Both Looking!

Calleigh Sits

She is getting better every day at sitting. She is alot less wobbly now and her back is more straight every time. She still is not the biggest fan of tummy time but she is getting better. She also has two teeth on the bottom that are just below the skin. For this reason, she is chewing EVERYTHING she can get those little hands on. However, it has not affected her mood one bit. She is still sleeping through the night and always smiling. She is also growing so big. I just bought her summer clothes and I bought 12 months in some of them, and they fit! She is so long. Everything is big through the middle section but fits in length. Most moms would be hoping for a model, I am hoping for a basketball player! Fingers crossed...

Happy Birthday Nana!

Mom recently turned 39 again, or so she says. I will give it to her because I am sure I will hold at 39 when I reach it too. We went to eat at Buck N Loons in Arlington and had a birthday cake and ice cream for her. Cameron stayed up to almost midnight and had cake at 11:00! Needless to say he slept to 10! Calleigh was a trooper as she stayed up to 10:00, when her bed time is 8:00. It is always a late night at Nana's! Funny story about her gift. Chris and I got her a set of Rachael Ray knives and when she went to open the case to check them out, they were not there! She had to take them back and get another box. She would probably have thought I tried to keep them, but I have the same set!

Look at her hand, like mom what are you doing?

Ride Cam Ride

this video is of cameron riding a 4 wheeler that nana and papa bought him Christmas 07. yesterday was the first day EVER for him to ride it because he had been scared to death of it. the past year we have tried periodically to get him on it and he will not even sit on it. now he loves it and has been riding it every chance he gets. we even let him ride it inside today since it was rainy and cold.

Volleyball Champion Husband

I spoke a little about both kids and now it is Chris' turn. A couple of weeks ago he had conferences in Dallas with his job. Every district had a volleyball team and they played a tournament which Chris' district won. He was so proud because they beat the executive team who had been practicing all week. All of his district has GM's that are well over 6 ft and Chris is 6'4". Yea Chris! He has also won a few tournaments at the Hooper house lately. He has really supported me working out, finishing school, and doing the house work. He even let me call the maid we had when I worked to start cleaning again. I have been so stressed out, so it has been a huge relief.

About a girl

Calleigh is five months now and I would like to share a glimpse into her developing personality for those of you who don't see her very often. She is the happiest baby I have ever seen. She is ALWAYS smiling. Cameron smiled when he was a baby, but not like this. Everywhere we go, someone comments about her smiling. She smiles at anyone. She has found her volume button, and squeals at the top of her lungs. If she thinks nobody is paying attention to her, she will make sure to get your attention. Just like a girl! Cameron does not always understand how fragile she is, and tends to be a little rough with her. He has hit her with a toy or his head and she doesn't say a thing. She is already tough. I know she is formulating her retaliation. She doesn't cry much at all. She cries if she is overly tired or hungry. When she wakes up to eat at night, she doesn't even cry. I hear her playing in her bed and I know it is time. The past couple of nights she has actually slept most of the night. Sometimes if she wakes up around 5 or 6, she refuses to go back to sleep and just wants to play. I just shut her door so she doesn't wake Cameron and let her play. After a bit, she will fall back asleep. She can roll over from her stomach to back, and back to stomach, although she has only done the latter once. She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth now. I have to keep everything out of reach and keep teething toys nearby. She eats cereal and starts grunting if you are not quick enough. On that note, she is getting to be a little fatty. At her 4 month appointment she was almost 14 lbs and 26 inches long. She is in the 90th percentile in height and 85th in weight. She is a big old girl! More of her for us to love. She makes everyone around here happy and we love to watch her grow. Cameron tells her all the time, I love you sooo much. It is the cutest thing we have ever seen.

Cameron Conquers

It may seem insignificant to come people that Cameron is sliding in these pictures, but this is a big step for him. Cameron is a funny child, he is so daring in some ways, but very cautious in others. He just started sliding by himelf at Nana and Papas house last weekend. We went to a play date at the park the other day and he just started sliding by himself. I was very proud and he was too. Cameron conquered the slide!

Calleigh's baptism was a beautiful ceremony that I would like to share with you all. Even if you are not Catholic you can appreciate the significance of welcoming a child into God's family. Enjoy!
