Date Night

We literally have not had a "date" since Calleigh was born. When you have kids date night takes on a whole new meaning. We decided instead of spending the money on a sitter and going out, to have a date nigth in. We put the kids to bed early and I cooked his favorite dinner. I recreated his favorite meal from OTB, which is where we would have gone if we went out. I used leaner meats and wheat tortillas...but he liked it just the same. We sat on the patio from 9-12 just talking and having a couple of drinks. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. We didn't even have to call and check on the kids cause the monitor was sitting right by us! Good times!

Bear Crawl??

Not sure exactly what this is, I guess her knees were hurting and she thought she just might stand...

Pullin Up in the World...

She has been trying for some time now, but today she finally got it right. I went to get Calleigh up from her nap and she was a standing girl! She can now pull up on most things but our couch is still a little tall for her. She is very daring and I cannot wait to see what she gets into next...

Challenge Update

I forgot to mention how everything is going with the training, knee, and challenge, so here it is. Berni called me on it, so this is for you Bern! The doctor told me the muscles around my left knee are weaker than the muscles around my right knee. He gave me exercises to do so I can strengthen that knee. I also have some exercises to do that will help strengthen my core and hamstrings which are very important for running. I rested for the better part of two weeks and I am back to my running. I have gotten up to about 4.7 miles so far. Some days I feel much better than others, and the other day I ran my first sub 10 minute mile. The 10K Marie and I are running in is at the end of August, so I will be ready. I have been pain free and the training is great. I am also taking part in another challenge that is going to last through the summer. I ended up losing 8 lbs in the first challenge and have already lost a couple in this one. My ideal size fits me great now, and today I tried the next size down, just for fun, and I am almost there. I have lost so many inches in my thighs it is amazing. Still have work to do, but I feel healthy and strong. Thank you to everyone for your support.

Cars Slippers

This picture might seem pretty insignificant if you don't know the story about these slippers. Our neighbor bought these for Cameron a long time ago. He plays with them from time to time, but will never put them on. Everytime we try he just cries or kicks them off. Tonight, he wanted to wear them to sleep. The funny thing is, I had to stuff them on this feet because now that he likes them, the barely fit!

Spray Park

My mom's group went to a spray park today and it was a blast. Cameron did not really warm up until the end, then he didn't want to leave. Calleigh pretty much sat in the shade and walked around with me. It was a really hot day so this was perfect. I think we will be frequent visitors this summer!

No baby tub needed!

Calleigh loves baths even more now that she can sit on her own. The water has already been drained here but she would have stayed in all night. Even if she is fussy and tired, baths but her in a great mood.

Dentist Update

Well to make a VERY long story short, the second dentist visit did not go so well. Cameron had an appointment to the cavities fixed but he would NOT cooperate. The medicine did not work and they could only give him a certain amount for his age. Chris and I did not know we would be there so long and I had nobody to help with Calleigh and Chris had a conference call and had to leave. It was just a mess. The dentist called that night to check on Cameron and we decided to just wait. I am supposed to call him in six months and we will go from there. He said he was able to get a better look and they are not as bad as he thought. Obviously if they start hurting him we will re-evaluate. This is a picture after he took the medicine. He was so funny. (also this is before he threw up in the lobby)

Pizza Friday

When I worked we always had pizza on Friday. It was always something easy to do and since Chris is usually out of town on Friday it became a tradition. Once I had Calleigh we kinda got out of some of our routines. Lately though, pizza Friday has returned. This last week Cameron helped me. We made a ham and pineapple pizza and it was so good. Cameron was so proud it was the first thing he told Chris when we talked to him on the phone that night. Calleigh is of course not pictured because she was napping.

CRAZY!

I know I have used crazy before, but there really isn't a better word to use when it come to Calleigh. She is so much more mischievous than Cameron. These pics are just a few of the latest things she has gotten into. Cat food is her new favorite toy. She makes a beeline for it every chance she gets. This girl cannot be contained! She also likes to wonder around and gets herself stuck. I have my hands, full to say the least. Oh, and the best part is that she thinks EVERYTHING is funny, including the word no. I pick her up to redirct her and she just laughs.

Work Out!

She already wants to work out with mama!

Happy Time

Calleigh is sooo happy when she wakes up in the morning and especially when she wakes up from a nap. I need to start filming it, so cute and sweet.

Cameron's Pool

I let Cameron pick out his own swimming pool so we have a swimming whale. It is really cute and he had a blast. Calleigh slept through the whole ordeal.

The Mayborn

My friend Aubrey and I took our kids to the Mayborn Museum here in Waco. Aubrey has a family pass so we were able to get in free of charge, always nice. Cameron absolutely loved it! There is so much for kids of all ages to do. I had so many pictures I tried to pick some to highlight the things he did. If it were up to him, we would have stayed watching the giant train display all day. He did branch out a little and even had a tea party with the girls. Don't worry, he was crashing his cars into the plates on the table the whole time. Calleigh could have cared less and she just had fun playing with her bow and try to get out of the stroller. I got a couple of shots of her being silly.
