Slumber Party

Cameron and I had a slumber party the other night when Chris was out of town. We stayed up late (10:45 he he), watched Handy Manny, Scooby Doo, and ate snacks in the bed. (healthy snacks, apples, carrots, string cheese, and veggie chips.) Oh well, at least he doesn't know what he is really missing. He kept telling me how much he loved slumber parties. It was so cute. When I told him we had to go to bed he said, "but mom there is another movie after this one." He already knows what slumber parties are all about. Too bad mama couldn't hang and we went to sleep.

Calleigh and Baby Genny

Calleigh has a love/hate relationship with her poor baby Genny. Most of you know that cabbage patch babies come with a birth certificate complete with name. Calleigh's baby's name is Geneva Johnnie, yeah. So I have decided to call her Genny. She hugs her, throws her around, and even holds her by the hair. Definitely won't be baby sitting anytime soon!

The Park

Today was so pretty and I feel "somewhat" settled this week, so I took the kids to the park. This is the first time I have taken Calleigh to the park when she can really participate. It made me so nervous! This girl is not scared of anything, which scares me! She wants to do everything Cameron does and she is quick! I have to climb up and go down the slides with her. She did not want to go to the area that was more appropriate for her, of course. We ended up walking around a trail that circled a pond. It was really nice. Cameron kept leaving Calleigh and I, and Calleigh kept wondering off the trail. Calleigh kept hearing things and stopping and pointing, and said her famous "du." "Du" is her favorite word and it pretty much means anything she wants it to mean. At the end I tried to get them to take a picture together, that didn't really work out. I also tried to take a picture of us before we went down the slide, they wouldn't coorporate so I cut off half of Cameron's head. Good times today!

Bad Day

I have so much I want to post but no time to do it. I would love to post pictures of the horribly unorganized apartment but that would require taking pictures and sitting down at the computer. I have no time to do the things I must do. For those who know me well, I hate disorganization. It is driving me crazy. To top this all, I found out today I didn't get a job I applied for and was excited about. I know this is probably not usual, but I have never interviewed for a job that I didn't get. I was crushed. I actually started crying when I got off the phone. That being said, I am fine now. I know it was just not the job for me. I just decided that since Calleigh is almost 16 months, I am ready to work again. Cameron was about the same age when I went back before. I like working, don't get me wrong, I love being home with the kids. I just think it isn't me. It's not all I want. I want to be in the work force, making money and a difference. Well,I am tired but I just wanted to get this off my chest. Perhaps tomorrow will be better and I will post some pics of the apartment. It is really cute and we are actually excited to be in an apartment until we find a house. We got lucky with this apartment, it is perfect for us. They even have nightly valet trash pick up so I can dispose of dirty diapers. ha ha There are some advantages to apartment living. I will also be exciting when we start house hunting, but I think I will worry about getting settled here for now. This is kind a random post but I am sitting on the bed and Chris' computer was just sitting here while he is brushing his teeth so I thought...why not?

In with the new...

I am so behind on posting, not necessarily that a whole lot of time has passed, but a whole lot has happened. I am going to make a list that sums up the end of last you to get you all "up to speed." I am planning on getting better with posting this year and hoping not to get so behind again. So hear was the end of our year and beginning of this one...

1. We sold our house finally! (the first time on the market was 9 months with no offers) We closed on December 14th. It was a sad day and I miss our house. It was our first house and so many memories were made there.

2. We have been living with my parents since we closed because of the timing of the holidays and Chris' work schedule. It has been tight, but it was so nice to be hear during the holidays.

3. Christmas- The kids took a picture with Santa, Calleigh REFUSED to smile but she didn't cry. Cameron smiled, but would not even look at Santa yet somehow still managed to tell him he wanted Thomas the Train. The kids got so many toys that they bearly fit in the house. Calleigh loved everything and played with it all. Cameron played with this trains. (we shouldn't have wasted money on anything else) ha ha

4. New Year's Eve- very low key, but one of the best in a while. We stayed in, mom and I cooked. It was only the immediate family, plus Nana, Papa, Joey, and Savannah, of course. We hung out, listened to music, and talked. Nice and not hung over. Joey and I acutally got up and ran 4 miles the next day. Productive!

5. Resolutions- This will be the year of 13.1. For those not familiar with 13.1, that is the amount of miles in a half marathon. I will run my first one April 11th in Dallas. I hope to run another this fall. The first one will be with a goal of finishing, and the second will be more for making a better time. Not sure how fast I will run it, depends on how long the first one takes. I am also starting a running blog for anyone interested in tracking my progress.

6. My 30th birthday- Went to church and lunch, then my husband did probably one of the nicest things he has ever done for me. He took me to Jared, yes the Galleria of Jewelry, and told me to pick something out. Wow! Every girl's dream! I ended up getting princess cut diamond stud earrings. Chris bought me some for Valentine's Day after we got engaged, but I lost one. Just to be safe, I haven't taken them off since I tried them on in the store. These puppies are going nowhere! Mom made me a cookie cake, my favorite, and I opened more gifts. So nice. Then mom put us to working cleaning out the garage and putting up Xmas decorations. Oh well, nice while it lasted.

7. We found a place to live! So we move on February 1st to Hutto Texas. It is northwest of Austin, for those not familiar. We are renting an apartment for a year or so. We want to get down there so Chris can be closer to his restaurants, but we also want to make sure we choose the right area. Renting will give us the time we need. It is a nice and growing area and we cannot wait.

8. Cameron- he is obviously into Thomas the Train right now. He also went to the theater to see a movie for the first time this month. He has been to see The Princess and the Frog and Alvin and the Chipmonks the Squeakquel. He is getting so smart and him and I have a blast together. He is just the sweetest little boy.

9. Calleigh- don't even know where to start...she started walking a few weeks after turning one and she has been non stop ever since. She runs, she jumps, she screams, she laughs, and she even talks now. I just can't keep her a baby for long! Some words I can remember right off are, cup (but it's more like bop), dog, mama, dada, papa, nana, bubba (brother's name), diaper (but it's more like dipe, she can't get that r in), well I am drawing a blank but I know there are more. She can also sign the word more, but that is all so far.

10. Chris- he is doing well. He cannot wait to move closer to his restaurants so he can work better and be home more. He bought running shoes and is going to run a 5K in April when I run my half. He is a great husband and I am so thankful for how much he appreciates and love me.

11. Me- forgot to mention I am still working on school and have about 30 hours to finish. I have decided I will probably get my masters after that because I am want to teach.

That should have you up to speed and I will keep up better in the future! God Bless!
